Emergency Shelter
REST’s Emergency Shelter provides a safe place to sleep, two meals and a shower for 10 men and 10 women every night of the year. The Men’s Site is in the Peoples Church at 941 W. Lawrence, and the Women’s Site is in the Uptown Baptist Church, at 1011 W. Wilson. Mail service is available at 941 W. Lawrence during the day, and clients can stay indoors safely during the day at the site when they are not at work or at appointments. They can also access needed clothing and toiletries.
Clients are required to attend RESTCare, our free medical clinic for a check up and TB testing. Case Managers visit the facilities weekly providing direction to enroll in the Social Service Program, to become a member of REST’s Interim Housing Program and eventually to get into Permanent Housing.
